Dr. Seni Igrec, a nationally certified music teacher with Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees in piano performance, teaches at her independent piano studio in Mamaroneck, New York (Westchester county). Prior to moving to New York, Seni taught in the Boston Metrowest area, and in Mandeville and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Her students are frequent winners of local and state piano competitions. She studied at the Zagreb University Academy of Music in Croatia, Stony Brook University, and Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Her teachers include Branko Sepcic, Jack Guerry, Jonathan Bass, and Gilbert Kalish.

Seni has performed as soloist and chamber musician in Croatia, Italy, New York, Texas, Georgia, and Louisiana. She was an accompanist in master classes by violinists Josef Gingold and Glenn Dicterow, flutist Bonita Boyd, and cellist Janos Starker; and in the studios of Martina Arroyo (soprano), Steve Cohen (clarinet), Robert Grayson (tenor), Penny Kemler (flute), Bill Ludwig (bassoon), Dennis Parker (cello), and Camilla Wicks (violin). She played keyboards in musicals such as Fiddler on the Roof, Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods, and Elton John's Aida.

Dr. Igrec studied organ with Herndon Spillman at LSU Baton Rouge, and was the organist at the Jefferson United Methodist Church in Baton Rouge.

Seni wrote TheoryBuilder to help her students learn music theory and prepare for written music theory tests. TheoryBuilder has been used by teachers throughout Louisiana and Ohio.

Seni Igrec is a Permanent Professional Certified Teacher of Music in Piano, the highest certification level given by the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA). She is a member of MTNA, NYSMTA (New York State Music Teachers Association) District 4, and Westchester Musicians Guild. Until 2015 she was a member of Louisiana Music Teachers Association (LMTA) and an active member and is a former president of the North Shore Music Teachers Association (NSMTA). Seni has adjudicated numerous competitions and was an evaluator for the Louisiana Department of Education Talented Program until 2015.

Seni ran the North Shore Music Teachers Association (NSMTA) Piano Rally in Louisiana more than once, and was the chairman of the NSMTA Piano Festival. She streamlined the Piano Rally by creating a computerized database system for tracking student entries, events, fees, judges, ratings, and awards. As a beloved two-time President of the NSMTA, Seni provided leadership, organized events and teacher workshops, and promoted continuing education for teachers.

She lives with her husband, daughter, and two adorable cats in Westchester county, New York.
